About Maxine

Maxine is a counseling trainee from the University of Hong Kong, currently pursuing her M.Soc.Sc. (Counseling) degree. Prior to her studies, she worked in the corporate industry as a design researcher while serving in the Kids & Youth ministry at a church for several years. During the pandemic, Maxine's aspirations of becoming a counseling therapist deepened through self-reflection and prayer.

As a person-centered therapist, Maxine is committed to creating a safe environment where clients can explore their feelings, thoughts, and challenges. Within the therapy room, she values the establishment of genuine connections and the sharing of a felt sense with her clients. Maxine has received training in various therapeutic approaches, including Satir Family Therapy, Play Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.

She believes that by providing unconditional positive regard as a therapist, clients can begin to explore themselves, distill their thoughts and emotions, and expand their sense of self for personal growth and transformation.
